About our practice
Dental Implants: Upgrading from Bridges, Partials, and Dentures
Many patients who visit our Benicia oral surgery office have lived with bridges, partial dentures, or failing crowns for years. These restorations served their purpose, but they do not last forever. When the time comes to replace them, dental implants offer something better: a permanent replacement that does not depend on neighboring teeth for support and does not need to be removed at night.
We see patients in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond who are excellent candidates for implants. Age alone is rarely a disqualifying factor. What matters is bone quality, overall health, and a clear treatment plan. Our surgeons at Benicia Oral Surgery use 3D imaging to assess your jaw structure in detail before recommending single-tooth implants, multi-tooth options, hybrid dentures, or full arch restoration with All-on-4. For patients who want to replace a full upper or lower arch, full mouth dental implants provide a fixed solution that feels and functions like natural teeth.
Addressing Bone Loss Before Implants
Patients who have been missing teeth for a long time often hear that they "don't have enough bone" for implants. That used to be a stopping point, but it no longer has to be. Bone grafting rebuilds the jaw using grafting materials that encourage your body to generate new bone over time. We also perform sinus lifts for upper jaw cases and socket preservation at the time of extraction to prevent further bone loss. These procedures add a few months to the overall timeline, but they make the difference between an implant that lasts and one that fails.
Wisdom Teeth Removal at Benicia Oral Surgery
Our Benicia office sees patients of all ages for wisdom teeth evaluation and removal. While most wisdom teeth are removed during the late teen years, some adults develop problems later, including pain from pericoronitis, pressure on adjacent teeth, or cyst formation. We evaluate every case individually with digital imaging and 3D scans, and we offer IV sedation so you can sleep through the procedure.
Extractions for Teeth Beyond Repair
When a tooth has fractured below the bone, developed a deep infection, or failed repeated attempts at restoration, extraction is often the most sensible option. Our surgeons handle everything from simple removals to surgical extractions of broken roots. Patients who need multiple teeth removed can have full mouth extractions completed under sedation in a single appointment. We discuss next steps, including implant planning, before you leave the office.
Specialized Surgical Procedures
Beyond implants and extractions, our team at Benicia Oral Surgery provides corrective jaw surgery for bite and alignment issues, treatment for facial injuries and jaw fractures, oral pathology evaluation and biopsy, impacted canine exposure, tori removal, and orthodontic teeth exposure.
Comfortable Sedation for Every Patient
Our anesthesia options include local numbing, nitrous oxide, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. We discuss what makes sense for your procedure and your comfort level during the consultation, so there are no surprises on the day of surgery.
